Young-Earth Creationism
- Young-Earth Creationism
- Young-earth Creationism is a world-view based on the following concepts
- God exists.
- The universe was created about 10,000 years ago (by God).
- This time-frame is from the view-point of an earth-based clock.
- The earth was created about 10,000 years ago (by God).
- God created the universe, and the earth, and all of the Kinds of living creatures, in 6 literal 24-hour days.
- This occured about 10,000 years ago.
- This time-frame is from the view-point of an earth-based clock.
- Micro-evolution is a Fact.
- Micro-evolution is adaptation of creatures to their environment.
- Such adaptation can result in low-level speciation.
- E.g., all of dog-kind (wolves, coyotes, foxes, dogs) speciated from one created ancestoral-kind.
- Naturalistic (atheistic) Mega-evolution is not a Fact
- but rather is an atheist-faith-based Naturalistic (atheistic) Theory.
- The statement is not meant to be derogatory in any sense.
- Mega-evolution required intelligent design by God.
- Mega-evolution, as defined here, involves formation of completely new organs and completely new body-plans.
- We are intentionally not using the term Macro-Evolution because the term has become confused with low-level speciation.
- Low-level speciation is not the same as formation of completly new body-plans and/or formation of completely new organs.
- God provided the information and immediate-process needed for Creation of First Life.
- God provided the information and immediate-process needed for creation of the various completly-new body-plans and completely-new organs of creatures.
- Regarding Genomic Information Content:
- Micro-evolution, in general, involves a drop in genomic information-content
(or a more-or-less constant level in information-content).
- Mega-evolution requires an increase in genomic information content.
- Disclosure
- I am not a young-earth creationist (YEC).
- However, I love my YEC brothers and sisters and have done my best to provide a fair representation of Young-Earth Creationism in the text above.
- Please note that while many committed Christians are Young-Earth Creationists, not all committed Christians are Young-Earth Creationists.
- Does God exist?
- Any form of Creationism is dependent on the concept that God exists.
